Family,  Weekend Recap

A weekend for the books!

Do you ever have those days that are so fulfilling that every time you think about them, you can’t help but smile?

That’s exactly how my past TWO weekends have been! I feel blessed to have had a great Labor Day weekend but the weekend before was just as good!

Two weekends ago we spent the entire Saturday in Heaven my parents pool.

If you know me, you know I love. the. sun. Love it! I always feel so much better after spending a day by the pool. The sun revamps me. On a hot Summer day, I can’t think of anything better than getting to spend the day floating around a cool pool with my favorite people {and dogs}.

Gracie is just like me. She has been swimming like a fish since she was really little and you practically have to pull her out of the pool at the end of the day.

 The dogs absolutely love my parents house. I had Einstein before I got married so this used to be home to him. He would stay there forever but a certain dog Mommy won’t let him.

Ahem.

I can’t say that I blame them though. Unlike our house, my parents live on 20 acres of land with horses, a barn, a pond and no neighbors. Einstein had a really hard time when we first moved because he wasn’t used to seeing neighbors in their own yards and not being able to have full run of the yard.

That being said, every time we go to my parents Einstein will take off to the horse pasture and roll around in some manure. I guess he likes the smell?

Since he smelled AWFUL {and was green} he had to get a hose pipe bath. He wasn’t too thrilled about the cold water.

You can see that the dogs made themselves right at home and claimed a chair to dry off on.

It’s kind of sad that summer is over but the good thing about living in SC is it is hot enough to swim for a few more weeks. I know one 7 year old that will be taking advantage of it!

And then there was this weekend–Labor Day weekend but most importantly the start of college football!

Cory and I tailgate with his side of the family and they’ve been tailgating longer than I’ve been alive. When I say they have it down to a science, I’m not joking. Over the years, they have perfected game days in Clemson.

This was our tailgate this past weekend for the Georgia game. If it looks like we are packed in like sardines, it’s because we were. It started raining so we all squeezed in and tried to stay dry. Thankfully, the rain passed quickly!

I could eat another plate right now. 9:30 am. It was that good.

Just had to share this one because he’s such a cutie.

This game was big for Clemson. Really big! Clemson was ranked 8th and we played 5th ranked Georgia. I’ve got zero pictures from the game because I was too busy yelling the entire game. I’ve been to a lot of Clemson football games over the years and this was top 5 for most exciting. Death Valley was packed {as you can see} the entire time. If you like college football and want a crazy game day experience, come to Clemson. The environment is never disappointing.

It was a great game. Kind of nerve wracking but both teams played very good. Thank goodness, Clemson had the most points at the end of the game.

After the win, the stadium got even crazier!

At this point, we had been outside for 15 hours. It was a long, hot day but worth every second to see our Tigers get the W.

Since Saturday was such a long day, we went to church Sunday morning and then crashed as soon as we got home. I very rarely take naps {unlike my husband who could sleep anywhere} but you better believe I took a long nap Sunday afternoon. We both woke up feeling run down and neither of us had a voice so it was the perfect excuse to stay in and rest Sunday evening!

Cory and I very rarely get a weekday off together because he is normally off on Friday and I get Mondays off. Since it was Labor day, he didn’t have to work Monday. We had planned on taking a trip to Atlanta and going to IKEA but settled for Greenville when I slept too late. {Wasn’t sorry about it at all!}

We didn’t really have a reason to go other than just shopping around. I had a few stores I wanted to go to, like Charming Charlie and Home Goods, but other than that we had no plans. Days like Monday are the best because it was carefree with no stress to find something specific or be rushed.

In all honesty, we only bought one or two things.

{Shocking}

I did catch this gem of Cory rocking out in the car. This is a normal thing in our lives- he is always playing the “drums” if there is music on. Give him a little Joan Jett and this is what you get!

I apologize for all the iPhone photos you are having to look at but I promise to do better and actually use the nice camera I have.
I hope everyone has had a few good weekends and enjoy the rest of the week!
