Year in Review: 2014
Happy New Year’s Eve, y’all! I can’t believe it’s the last day of 2014… I’m still trying to figure out where the year went. We had an incredibly busy year but the best one yet! It was full of new adventures and blessings far beyond what we deserved.
January
We rang in 2014 with some of our favorite people…
My bloggity blog got a face lift and a new domain name.
And Cory officially took over as director of Barnabas X. We had no idea where this would take us 12 months ago but it’s been a very exciting year!
February
I completed the 12 days of Valentine’s Day for Cory.
We started fundraising for our trip to Rwanda.
And I took my first trip to Ikea!
March
I shared my DIY Moss Letter.
And talked about a hiccup with our trip to Rwanda and how I failed miserably at trusting without borders.
We ended the month with a weekend in Pigeon Forge for our first ever marriage retreat with my parents.
April
We relaunched our community group
I talked about being free.
And I revealed our bathroom makeover and how to update cabinets on a dime.
May
Cory and I took a spontaneous trip to Surfside over Memorial Day weekend.
Unfortunately, my engagement ring and wedding band were stolen out of our hotel.
And we came home to a house with no air. It was a rough few days!
June
John and Jordan graduate high school!
I hosted a bridal shower for my bestie, Kristen.
My family participated in the annual Ride4Life.
And Kristen got married!
July
We dressed up in “Patriotic” shirts at church for the 4th of July
And were stuck on the roof of my dads store to raise money for Rwanda.
And I helped host a bridal shower for my cousin, Justin and his fiance {at the time} Ali.
August
Gracie got to go on her first mission trip to Canada.
I made a couple of USC wreaths {against my will!}.
We found out Daniel and Tiffany were having a girl!
We had a couple more fundraisers for Rwanda and raised almost $10,000 in two months.
All of this was donated, y’all. Told you we were blessed! Plus, we had so much help that weekend getting all of this setup. We can’t thank our friends and family enough for helping us out!
We started packing our supplies for the trip.
September
The biggest and best month of the year!
My whole world was rocked when I traveled to Rwanda. After months of preparing and fundraising all summer, I was privileged to spend two weeks in a place I fell in love with.
We also celebrated our 4th anniversary in Rwanda.
October
We had the most miserable, unsuccessful trip to the apple orchard.
I shared my DIY Chevron Pumpkin tutorial.
And we said goodbye to John and Jordan as they shipped out to basic training.
November
We were able to share about our trip with our church and for the first time ever, I felt so confident speaking in front of others.
We hosted a banging 90’s party for our community group.
We had some family photos made.
And we spent Thanksgiving in Austin with Cory’s brother.
December
We co-hosted a shower for Daniel and Tiffany {which I still haven’t recapped…oops!}
We got our Christmas cards sent out.
I shared a little Christmas DIY.
The Ugly Christmas Sweater party got a little out of hand.
And we had a ton of quality family time over Christmas break!
Whew! Told ya it was a busy year! But our eyes are open to so many new things now and we are so excited to see where God leads us in 2015!

Isn’t it cool to look back and see how much really happens over the course of a year? The good and the bad along with it…
