Weekending x 2
Happy Monday, y’all! It was a pretty good weekend over here at the Sloan house and like the past couple weekends, we spent a lot of time on the couch snuggling the pups and watching Parks and Recreation. And I wouldn’t have it any other way, though!
Since I didn’t recap last weekend, I’m combining two weekends into one recap. Don’t worry, I didn’t take very many pictures so this will be quick.

Last Saturday, I woke up with a Halloween hangover because we decided to stay at home to see if we had any trick-or-treaters.
We had two.
And they came in the same car.
Sooo I pigged out on the $15 worth of candy I bought. After my sugar headache wore off, I headed over to help Jessica decorate for her mother-in-law’s 50th birthday party.
And we learned an important lesson about hay bales:
Truck, not car.
Jessica felt awful and kept trying to clean it out. She said “Cory’s gonna hate me because you’re gonna make him clean it out”.
Mwahaha.
On Sunday, we had our community group over for a bonfire and s’mores and Cory built the biggest fire ever.
This past Friday, Cory and I had eye doctor appointments and after we got done, I wasn’t feeling so hot so we picked up a pizza and snuggled on the couch with a big fat white dog all evening.
Saturday, I met my mom and Gracie for lunch and found out that she finally got a letter from John and got his address. We got Jordan’s almost two weeks ago and we were getting very anxious to be able to write to John.
Hampton didn’t want me to leave, of course. He’s been attached to my side the past couple weeks.
Saturday night, I met Kristen, Amy and Crystal for a much-needed girls’ night. I haven’t seen all these lovely ladies since Kristen’s wedding and it was nice to catch up!
On Sunday, the Rwanda team {or 3/4th of it} took over the service at ONE. Cory led the music and we were blessed to be able to share about our trip.
I used to hate speaking in public but it comes so naturally when I’m sharing about all the sweet babies in Rwanda.
Yesterday, Cory and I spent the day searching for goodies for our 90’s bash this weekend and found some awesome pieces for our 90’s attire. We ended our weekend with a steak dinner and, you guessed it, Parks and Recreation.
After some time to rest and relax, I’m feeling much less “blah” plus any time I get to talk about Rwanda helps boost my spirits. Hopefully, I will get back to some kind of normal this week!

Your poor fur baby is afraid you’re going to leave again!!!
I love seeing you two on stage … God’s calling on our lives makes us do things we never thought we’d do, huh? :)
Oh, the back of your car… that made me panic. I hate when I have a lot of grass on my floor boards – that is crazy hay!!!

Glad your feeling better! How awesome that you get to speak about your trip and show pictures! I bet everyone loved that! I bet your pups are still recovering from the trip too! They are so cute! :) Oh, and too funny about the hay bales in the vehicle! Haha :)
