Weekending | Kitchen Reno Free
How in the world is our weekend already over? Our weekend was spent doing things that didn’t involve our kitchen renovation {for the most part} and it was very much needed.
After a very late night on Friday, we finally finished painting that ceiling! And by we, I mean Cory cause I crashed around 1:00 am and I’m not even sure what time he came to bed. So glad that’s out of the way!
We had plans to meet Allen and Tammie at 11 Saturday morning and I may have heard angels sing when they called and told us not to rush. Which was a good thing considering I was still in bed!
After grabbing Starbucks, we headed down to Atlanta to see the Hot Club of Cowtown. I have to admit, I was kind of dreading going to the show because 1. I’d never heard of this band before and 2. We had so much we needed to be doing at the house.
As always though, we had a great time and I really did enjoy the show. Cory referred to them as a hot jazz/ western swing band which isn’t the type of music I normally listen to but when you’re married to a musician, you really learn to appreciate another good musician.
And they really were exceptional. Plus, any time I can spend with the Hart’s is always fun.
As we were leaving, we ran into the Savannah from Chrisley Knows Best. Her parents are actually from my hometown and I used to work with Julie’s mom….Small world, huh? She’s such a pretty young lady!
Probably the highlight of my weekend was having Benjamin in town, though! I haven’t mentioned it on here but he’s been in the states for a couple of weeks and we were so blessed that he shared about Rwanda and the children we fell in love with, not only at our church Sunday morning, but my parents church on Sunday evening.
Words can’t express how grateful we are to have Ben in our lives as part of our family. We only wish we could have seen Josephine, Jed and Michaiah too! It has us pumped up and ready to get our next trip planned.
I said our weekend was kitchen reno free but really it wasn’t. The floor guy was supposed to start yesterday but I think God just knew we needed another day. Cory got home late Sunday night from taking Ben back to where he’s staying and I had done laundry ALL day. We still had furniture to move out and planned on getting up early to finish up. Around 6:00am Cory texted the guy to ask what time he’d be there and he said it would be Tuesday. Again, angels signing. We crawled right back into bed and slept hard till almost 11. Cory never sleeps that late so when he does, I know he really needs it!
As of yesterday evening, we are officially “moved out” of our house for the week while floors are refinished!
Whew! I’m exhausted just recapping it! What did you do this weekend?

Look at your kitchen!!! I am so impressed with everything you guys have been doing – it’s going to look awesome when it is finished! I had no idea you can’t stay in your house while they’re working on flooring – thank goodness you have family in town!

Looks like a fun one though!
I always love pics of the 2 of you – such a cute couple
I bet you did wish those adorable babies were able to come visit… I know you have to miss them.

Wow, y’all did have a busy weekend!
When I read the part about you dreading going to the concert because of reason number two, (having so much to do at the house), it reminded me of myself. I’m constantly thinking of what I need to get done and planning ahead for future things that need to get done I end up not actually going out and having fun sometimes, so I’m glad you went and had fun!
And oh my gosh, Chrisley Knows Best is hilarious, that’s such a good picture of both of you!
That’s awesome that Ben has been in town and that he was able to speak at y’alls churches. And yay for the ceilings being done and the kitchen reno on it’s merry way, can’t wait to see the end result! Have a great week girl!
