Weekending: Bridal Shower & Father’s Day
Woah…what a weekend! It was a busy one but packed with so much goodness. This chick is tired but I’m running off a high from the weekend. Take a peek?
This was sometime around midnight {or later} on Friday night and these two were still helping me finish everything for the shower on Saturday. Amber and Cory are seriously the best and I couldn’t have done it without either of them.
PS. Check the banner hanging from the blinds. Crafts were everywhere.
PPS. I learned that Cory is a chalkboard genius. And now I can’t wait for him to do all the chalkboard projects I’ve been dying to do. He will probably regret letting me in on his secret very soon.
Saturday morning, Cory got up extremely early {after not getting to bed until 2:30 am working on shower stuff) to help me load my car up. It was so full, I couldn’t close the hatch so Cory had to bungee cord it shut. With a chai latte in hand, I headed to Greenville for Kristen’s bridal shower.
The sign-in table {and the chalkboard sign Cory did}. I’m hoping to get my full shower recap up soon but we’ve got another crazy week ahead!
Sunday, Cory and I loaded the Jeep up and headed to Lake Jocassee to celebrate Father’s Day. Dad wanted to get a ride in {he is a cyclist and he has a 300-mile bike ride next weekend. This is the crazy week we have coming up because we go with him to do support but I digress. I’ll share more about that later.} so we headed up to meet Mom and Gracie with Dad and Jordan coming later for dinner.
Amazed at God’s beautiful creation. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful area.
We did a little swimming, played some beach lake volleyball {and G even had an audience} and ate a whole lot of good food!
I definitely don’t think they were watching her athleticism. Poor child has no coordination but she is super cute. So there’s that.
Too bad I didn’t even get a picture of my dad being that it was Father’s Day and all. Daughter of the Year Award, right there. But I was so thankful to get to spend a little time with him and let him know how thankful I am to have him in my life. He is such a huge influence to me and I would absolutely be lost without him.
The day ended with a little Jeep riding as the sun was setting, the fresh air beating against my skin {Cory’s Jeep has no doors or windows}, some good music blaring and my hands dancing in the wind.
Perfection.

First of all – I am beyond impressed with cory’s skills on the chalkboard – I have pretty good handwriting but he totally has me beat!!! I can’t wait to see all the DIY that you did!! A sunday on the lake sounds like pure heaven!!! Hope you have a great monday and thank’s so much for linking up!!
Paige Sloan
I guess I should of clarified that he didn’t free hand it. I drew up the design in Photoshop, printed it and he was able to transfer it to the chalkboard by coloring the back with chalk and going over it with a pencil. Then he was able to trace it with a chalk pen but still, I couldn’t even do that! He’s very artistic!
Rachel
Wow look how awesome that chalkboard is!
Paige Sloan
Didn’t he do a great job???

Sounds like it was a wonderful weekend! And I am seriously impressed with Cory’s chalkboard skills, too!!! Can he come decorate my chalkboard?!
Paige Sloan
I know! I was stunned at how well it came out. Little does he know what I’ve got planned for Fall. Chalkboards everywhere!

I love those decorations! I can not wait to see more. What a talent your husband has! I am going to have to test my husband with chalkboard type now. I struggle with it. If he has a hidden talent like that, we will have chalkboards on every wall soon. :)

I can’t wait to share them! I guess I should of clarified that he didn’t free hand it. I drew up the design in Photoshop, printed it and he was able to transfer it to the chalkboard by coloring the back with chalk and going over it with a pencil. Then he was able to trace it with a chalk pen but I couldn’t even do that and make it look decent! Maybe that will help your husband :) Little does he know the chalkboard madness that’s fixing to hit our house!

SHUT UP – he did that chalk art?!?! I’m so jealous!!!

I drew up the design in Photoshop, printed it and he was able to transfer it to the chalkboard by coloring the back with chalk and going over it with a pencil. Then he was able to trace it with a chalk pen but still…I couldn’t even do that and make it look half way decent. He’s my artist!

You really were a busy gal huh? I can’t believe Cory’s mad chalkboard skills! Looks like your day at the lake was fun – beautiful weather wasn’t it?
Paige Sloan
He is talented at EVERYTHING. Seriously, there’s nothing he can’t do. And the weather was perfect! Such a beautiful day!

I can’t believe Cory made that sign! Can he come do all my chalk projects too please? Did he use chalkboard pens or regular chalk for that? Looks like a great weekend!
Paige Sloan
I printed the design and he used regular chalk to color the back of the paper. Then he transferred it to the chalkboard by tracing over the letters with a pencil. Once the bones of the design were on the chalkboard, he traced and filled the rest in with a chalk pen. I couldn’t believe he had kept this hidden talent from me for so long!
Brittney Marie
So…How much does Cory charge for those chalkboards? ;)
Paige Sloan
I told him he should start selling them! He’d make a killing off of his talent!
Meghan
I love that chalkboard! OMG. Looks like a great weekend! I love busy weekends! Thanks for linking up! xo

Thank you! It was a busy one but one for the books!
