Weekending
Happy almost Tuesday Monday, y’all! We had a great weekend that went entirely too fast and I keep telling myself four more days until another weekend. I’m really praying I have a better work week than the last couple. So here’s what we did this weekend…
FRIDAY | Cory and I headed to my high school alma mater {it just happened to be homecoming} but my cousin Josh played for the opposing team. He’s #61 and it’s his senior year so we enjoyed getting to see him play one last time.
It was weird sitting on the visitors side, not like I ever sat on the home side because I cheered all four years of high school, but the moon was beautiful coming the stadium.
SATURDAY | We had originally planned on going to Pumpkintown Pumpkin Festival on Saturday morning and then watch the game with the Castos and Forresters but while we were at the game Friday night, Cory’s uncle Rick called us and invited us to the game on Saturday. Actually, he guilt tripped us for not coming to a tailgate yet then offered us two tickets to the game. How could we turn that down?
I just told someone last week that I hadn’t really missed our season tickets but it was really nice being back in Death Valley, cheering on our Tigers.
We truly live in Gods country…football, the lake and the mountains all in one picture. We are so blessed!
This was an especially nerve wracking game against Louisville that literally came down to the last 20 seconds of the game. Just look at the grip Doug {Cory’s papa} had on that hat!
SUNDAY | I woke up with an extremely sore throat and I already slept almost 12 hours {I fell asleep on the couch at like 9:30 Saturday night}. I’m pretty sure I was fighting a cold because I was so out of it that morning. Needless to say, I didn’t make it to church. After a lazy day, Cory and I headed to a community group {one we aren’t leading} for couples. It was our first time going and we’re really looking forward to getting plugged in with them on the weeks we aren’t leading ours.
Obviously, Einstein wasn’t too thrilled about The Walking Dead but Cory and I loved it! It’s the only show we watch live and I can’t wait for the rest of the season.
MONDAY | Since the kids were out of school for Columbus Day, Cory and I picked up Gracie and spent the day with her.
We spent the morning in Anderson and Gracie just had to have the Nerf bow and arrow.
Just call her Graceniss Everdeen.
In case you’re wondering what that big white thing is behind her…that would be my couch cushion. Remember last week when I talked about our dogs having separation anxiety? Well, after coming home Saturday night to pee on our couch, we kept Hampton up while we were gone to Anderson and surprise, surprise, Einstein is suffering from some issues too. And there was pee on our couch again.
He wouldn’t have to look so pitiful laying on the hard couch frame if he would stop peeing on my furniture! We got a few more decorations for the front porch while in Anderson and I can’t wait to share my fall front “porch”!

Aww, Paige, it sounds like a wonderful weekend! Now that I finally know what a football game in person is like I can honestly say that I am a little envious! Hope your week is going well. :)
