Weekending
Happy rainy Monday, y’all. I have to say that I’m a little jealous of those that are snowed in because we’ve seen absolutely no snow here in South Carolina! So far, this rainy Monday has called for a trip to the gym and grocery store, lunch and a nap on the couch curled up with a couple pups!
Our lunch was avocado toast with sunny side eggs and a cucumber and tomato salad. It was delicious!
While we are striving to live a simpler life, I’m struggling on what to share with my weekend recaps. We aren’t doing as much and I’m failing miserably at taking pictures of the things we are doing. What’s not lacking though is my pictures of Charlie. I just can’t get enough of this cutie…
I spent the majority of my weekend in pain {like had to pick my legs up to get out of the car kinda pain} because I did legs at the gym on Thursday night. By the way, when a seasoned runner ask you “Hey, wanna stay and do legs?” Say no. Trust me!
On Friday, Cory and I decided that we would have a cheat meal. We went back and forth on whether to allow ourselves this because we aren’t fasting in place of a diet but we do hope to continue this lifestyle change after 28 days. In the hopes of not getting burnt out, we went out to eat. Cory ended up getting a salad, though which left me feeling guilty about the fried chicken and fries I was fixing to order so I got BBQ chicken nachos. I’m sure that’s not any better but it hit the spot. I was too hungry to stop for a picture though. After a grocery store run, we headed home and crashed on the couch. Exciting life, I tell ya!
Other than faith and fitness, the third part of our 28 days of commitment is fellowship. So Saturday morning, we headed to clean up a section of our downtown area that our church has adopted.
I stole these pictures off of Facebook, by the way. Thanks Sandra!
It was determined that I deserved a gold medal for this. I’m telling you, at one point I thought it would just be easier to crawl than to bend down to pick up trash.
Later that afternoon, I headed to a baby shower. It was the third boy shower I’ve been to this year. Must be a year for boys! Cory cooked stuffed peppers for dinner and we finally went to see American Sniper. I dreadfully passed up the popcorn and a large fountain drink {my weakness especially at a movie} but goodness was that a good movie! It breaks my heart that it was a true story and his family never got the life they had dreamed of. I thought Bradley Cooper did an amazing job!
Sunday was church and small group at our house before ending our weekend with our favorite, The Walking Dead!
What did you do this weekend? Did you watch the midseason premier? What did you think??

I can’t wait to see that movie! Dustin is reading the book now, so I guess we’ll be renting it later. We haven’t had any snow in OK either, but I’m ok with that haha!

You passed up the popcorn? You are strong girl for sure! I really want to see that movie even though the ending has totally been ruined by the media for me!

I feel you on the weekend recaps lately – we just don’t have much going on during Jan-March so I feel like I’m repeating myself every single Monday! So glad you were able to see American Sniper, we LOVED it, too. Bradley Cooper did an awesome job!

I’ve been struggling with wknd recaps too! since michael is working most of it, there isn’t much to report. That avocado/egg toast meal looks AMAZING! I’m definitely trying that. A cheat meal every once in a while is necessary, but good job on resisting popcorn at the movies! Hope you’re having a good week!

Your lunch looks amazing! I always forget about avacado toast and it sounds so good with an egg. We are in the same boat lately, we are trying to simplify our life and being on a budget means not very exciting posts. I feel like the only thing I have to share is food…oh and the pups…ha!

Oh Charlie is too cute! How is she doing with adjusting and how are the other dogs doing with her? I feel like my posts have been pretty boring lately because I don’t have anything going on other than baby stuff. Lol. :) We went and seen American Sniper too! I thought it was a great movie! I can’t believe Brad Cooper didn’t win best actor for it at the Oscars!
