These are a few of my favorite things.
Y’all this is one of my favorite linkups. EVER. So much so that I couldn’t miss out on it even though Cory and I decided we won’t be buying gifts this year and asked our family to donate towards sponsoring a child rather than buying us a gift.

It’s almost cliche to say that our trip to Africa changed our lives. It seems like the words are too small. The truth is, you can’t go there and meet those children and sit in a house made out of sticks and mud on a borrowed bench, and look in the eyes of a father who loves his children so much but can’t find enough work to feed them every day, and have a child tell you their only prayer request is that their mom and dad could find food that day because they were so hungry it hurt–you can’t experience that and come straight back and do the American Christmas.
Even though I know that sponsoring a child is infinitely better than spending the money on our family and friends, it’s been kinda hard to accept because I just love giving gifts! I love shopping for the gifts, wrapping them and having pretty little presents under my tree and I love seeing their face light up when they open the gift. This linkup is the perfect cure to my No Gift Giving Blues!
If we were planning to do gifts, these are a few of my favorite things I’d like to see under the tree…
1. Judith March Y’all Hat Because everyone needs a cute hat for a bad hair day. Amiright?
2. Old Navy Fleece Sleep Pants Like I seriously need another pair of pajama pants but these look so comfy AND you can order them in tall online. Always a plus for me!
3. Hand-Knit Chunky Scarf This scarf just looks so warm and cozy. Since the high is supposed to be 41 degrees today, I imagine we are gonna need lots of warm and cozy this winter.
4. Combat Boots I’ve been swooning over these boots all fall. I could see these being a staple in my closet for years to come.
5. Old Navy Pea Coat Another timeless piece that would take the place of my brown and black pea coats that I’ve had for years.
6. Hot Tools Curling Wand I’ve been using my regular curling iron as a wand for over a year now and I think an actual curling wand would revolutionize the way I curl my hair. Plus, this one comes with a glove which would save my poor fingers.
7. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue I’m completely out of all my “good” perfume. Light Blue is an old favorite and I wouldn’t mind if it reappeared in my cabinet.
What are some of your favorite things this Christmas?

You’re definitely choosing something worthwhile, and it’s especially appropriate for this season! (I agree that the combat boots are pretty sweet!)

that y’all hat is fab! I think it’s amazing that you and your family are sponsoring kids instead of doing gifts. Such a heartwarming act.
Kristen
those fleece pants look so comfy.
it can be so hard i think, to see the things you have seen and to come home and try and be ‘normal’. i think its amazing that you have asked your family to donate to a child.
Elise @ Cheers Yall
That’s my mommy’s favorite scent! it’s the best! And I have that curling iron…also the best! xx

I think it is so sweet of you to give christmas to a child rather than want for yourself! At my work we decided to do a small gift for our secret santa thing but to do several gifts for kids in our county that are in need. My husband and I also donate a deer for a program in our county that benefits the hungry. It’s nice to be able to do those things for those in need! I love all the things on your wish list though too! :)

Wow! What a great list, Paige. Justin had already wrapped my gifts, and I must confess I am most excited about the cookie sheets he has already hinted about having bought me. The ones I now let EVERYTHING roll everywhere and drives me crazy, lol. You know you are an adult when you ask for cookie sheets for Christmas, right? :)
