Thankful Thursday: My Hunky Husband
Cory. He’s a keeper, I tell ya.

After all the craziness with the Rwanda trip, I thought it would be a good idea to get our minds off it for the weekend and tackle updating our bathroom.
Bad idea.
Cory had just come off night shift and hadn’t had a day off in ten days and our “weekend” projects almost always take two full weeks but like always, he obliged.
We didn’t stop for three straight days {four for him} but of course didn’t finish. After a stressful two weeks and two big blow out fights consisting of him telling me I knew nothing about table saws and me telling him he knew nothing about making curtains {completely separate argument for a completely different project} , he worked hard every evening this week to finish the bathroom.
I promise, we really don’t argue very much but there are two situations that will always cause an argument between us…either the last couple days of night shift or when he is switching back to day shift or when we do DIY projects together. So you can imagine that this project was doomed from the start.
Despite the two week bathroom makeover and a little bit of fighting, I’m so thankful to have a husband like Cory. He is so willing to go with my crazy ideas even if he has just worked 72 hours a week for the past six weeks.
For example, he put on a matching scarf and took ridiculously cheesy pictures that I’m completely in love with to please me. {See above picture}.
I know without a shadow of a doubt that Cory is the person that God designed for me to be with. Everything I’m not, he is and more. He’s way nicer than I am and very rarely tells me {or anyone else, for that matter} no. He loves the Lord and has the heart of a servant. As much as he claims not to, I know he adores our fur babies just as much as I do. He’s laid back and hardly ever stresses. He can write the sweetest notes that bring tears to my eyes every time because they always mention how he wants to be a better husband because I deserve it. Plus, he cleans.
I told you, he’s a keeper.
And I can’t forget how easy on the eyes he is with his crystal blue eyes and child like smile. How did I get so lucky???
So today, I just want to let him and everyone else know how thankful I am that he is in my life. How thankful I am that he asked me to be his wife at the top of the lighthouse on Tybee Island almost five years ago. How thankful I am that I said yes and got to marry my best friend. How thankful I am that he is the one I get to do life with.
Cory, thank you for all your hard work. Thank you for agreeing to redo the bathroom even though it was the last thing you wanted to do. Thank you for taking the cabinet doors off and re-sanding them because I wasn’t happy with them and I’m sorry you had to take them off again because they were upside down. You will never fully understand how much I appreciate it. Love you, babe!
Today I’m linking up with Katie, Mia, Carly and Kristal to share what I’m thankful for!

isn’t it such a blessing to have a self-less husband. makes marriage that much better, right? by the way, do we get to see pics of the update???
Paige Sloan
YES! I often feel bad because he is so self-less and I’m kinda selfish. He’s the best :) And of course, I’ll be sharing pictures! It may take me a while but I will get them up!
