90s Party

Since we are officially over a month out from our community group’s 90s party, I figured I should share all the rad decorations we had.

Keep in mind that as of the night before this party, I had zero {zilch, nada} decorations done. But I kept the decorations simple and Cory and Gracie were troopers and helped me pull off a totally phat 90s party.

90s themed party

My cupcake stand was made out of boxes spray painted black and cassette tapes we ganked from the thrift store, spray painted and wicked glittered.

Like the decorations, I kept the food simple and, like, so totally 90s including Bugles, homemade Dunkaroos, Ringpops and some Nerd-sprinkled cupcakes.

For my backdrop, I used a black plastic tablecloth and squirted different colors of craft paint all over it. Easy peasy. I thought it turned out mad tight.

We drank Cheerwine and Orange Crush with some wack pineapple straws. NOT!

The costumes were probably the best part of the party. Everyone did a great job channeling their inner 90s self.

And some Ringpops all around. All that and a bag of chips.

So this party was all of Cory’s 90s dreams come true and I’m so glad we were able to pull it off and have such a great time with our community group. Themed parties may be my new favorite kind of party to throw :)

Thanks to Cory for all the 90s vocab!

DIY 90’s Photobooth

A few weekends ago, we had a 90’s themed party for our community group and the main attraction was definitely the DIY 90’s photobooth.

The back drop was probably the easiest party decoration I’ve ever done because you can’t mess it up. All I did was tape two pieces of craft paper together and squirt acrylic paint all over. So easy a five year old could do it {literally, my five year old niece and eight year old sister helped}.

The printable props are by The Quirky Quail and Cory glued them to foam paper then used an x-acto knife to cut them out. After they dried, I taped some pre-cut dowel rods to the back. Super simple, I’m telling ya!

Our poor, poor dogs.

Ring pop proposal. {Not really, we’ve been married four years}

The whole group minus Bethany!

Cory and I are so blessed to be surrounded by such a fun group of people who go along with our Cory’s crazy ideas!

Check back after Thanksgiving for a full recap on our 90’s party.

Happy rainy Monday, y’all. Sure am glad that I’m at home in my pjs today especially after the busy weekend we had.

Gracie spent the night on Friday and poor thing was so sick. She’s had a nasty sinus infection all week and hasn’t been able to kick it. But she was so excited about the 90’s party, she stayed up late helping us prep.

We spent all day on Saturday getting ready for the party {remember I hadn’t done anything for the party before Friday night} and somehow we pulled off a slammin’ party for our community group.

We probably had too much fun with the photobooth.

With about 80% of our group having birthdays in September and October this was actually supposed to a birthday party but we never even sang happy birthday. Everyone was too busy drinking Cheerwine out of pineapple straws, eating ring pops and playing Mario on the Super Nintendo.

I’ll do a full recap on the party soon, I promise!

After church on Sunday, we thought we would enjoy our free afternoon on the couch but decided to go visit some family instead. We ended up staying all afternoon at Cory’s uncle and aunts but it was good catching up.

We ended our weekend with a little Gameboy playing {still left out from the 90’s party} and The Walking Dead!

How was your weekend? What all did you get in to?
