Office Space!

Last Saturday, Cory and I “scheduled” the day to go through our office/music/collect all room, organize and PURGE. I’ve had this desire to to create more space lately and de-clutter. One look at this room might have given any one of y’all a panic attack. I sure had a few but we knew if we didn’t write it down in both our planners, we would put it off. I mean look at it. Who would want to tackle this?

I’m almost ashamed to share these photos but I like to keep it real on here. So while I may post pictures of a perfectly clean bathroom, this was two doors down the hall.

Bad, I know. But it does get better. I promise.

After clearing out the room {except for the big stuff}, this was our donate pile. We discovered that our attic has a larger floor space than we had originally thought so we were able to store a lot stuff up there. It was mostly stuff that we don’t want to get rid of like some of Cory’s old art work but we don’t have anywhere to display it right now. We also cleaned out the closet which had a lot of our winter jackets and my dresses, switched out my summer/winter clothes, and I came up with FOUR trash bags full of clothes, shoes and bags to get rid of.

Oh, and we’d already taken the four or five bags of trash outside. Ahem.

And here is the after…

Since we had some extra room in the office now, we were able to confine move all of Cory’s action figures into one space of the house. Yes, my 28 year old husband collects action figures. Just a kid trapped in a mans body.

While it took all day, I’m so glad to have this room cleaned out and be able to check it off my April goals. Now that you can actually access this room, we can start on turning it into my dream office and a work space I can actually us. We said we would wait to purchase the goodies from IKEA until we had this step finished {obviously we had no where to keep anything} and I can’t wait to get started!
