May in Review + June Goals

How is it June already??? Does this blow anyone else’s mind? It sure does mine.

June Goals

May was extremely busy for the Sloans and unfortunately, I was just trying to survive the month and let a lot of my goals go by the wayside.

1. Spend more time in prayer. Yep but you can never have too much prayer.
2. Drink more water than I did in April. Um…not sure about this one but I’m gonna guess no.
3. Walk my puppies. I suck! My poor pups need exercise. I’m an awful fur mama.
4. Plan my meals and actually go to the grocery store. Since May was so busy, we haven’t been home to eat a lot but I did go to the grocery store and we are slowly making it through our meals.
5. Actually eat the meals we bought for. At the end of the month, make an effort to make meals with what we have to be less wasteful. Still working on this one. Actually, I cooked one of my planned meals last night but we still have everything we need for one more meal.
6. Save money by cutting back our restaurant, entertainment & blow envelopes and start paying extra on our mortgage. We didn’t cut back our restaurant envelope {but we also didn’t borrow from other envelopes to go out to eat!} but we did cut back our entertainment and blow and were able to pay extra on our May mortgage payment!
7. In an effort to save money and drink more water, only order water when we go out to eat {this is going to be a tough one!} Yes! I’ve actually done really good with this one. It’s definitely not been every time, by any means, but I have made the effort!
8. Eat more veggies preferable in smoothies. Does four smoothies count? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
9. Decide on a color and paint master bedroom. I think I’ve decided on a color but haven’t painted yet.
10. Find a duvet cover to match new color of master bedroom. Haven’t even looked.

Onto my June goals…

Continued from May:
Drink more water.
Walk my puppies.
Eat more veggies preferably in smoothies.
Paint master bedroom & find duvet cover to match.

1. Be content. If you read my vacation recap, you know how content I felt at the beach. I didn’t feel pressure to work on my blog or to get through my Bloglovin feed and comment on all your lovely post {not that I don’t enjoy all your post because it’s my favorite part of blogging}. I so badly want this contentment in my daily life so that I don’t miss living my life!

2. Be a more intentional wife. I’m still trying to decide if I want to blog more specifically on this but I’ve realized recently that I’m slacking on my duties as a wife. I don’t do a fabulous job on letting Cory know I love him and he deserves to feel so much more than I can ever give him. This. will. change.

3. Spend more time outside in the evenings. We have such a nice patio set that we never use. Evenings are so nice around here, it just doesn’t make any sense not to use it. Plus, the dogs love when we are outside with them!

4. Really learn my camera and practice! I’ve had my camera for almost nine months now and I’ve yet to even read the manual. I really want to get better with my photography skills and need to practice more!

5. Get better at meal planning. Does this really need an explanation? Y’all know I hate the grocery store.

6. Wash my face every night. I’m ashamed to even admit this but very rarely do I wash my face before I go to bed. Shame on me, I know!

7. Plan Kristen’s shower. My best friend Kristen is getting married THIS MONTH! and I’m throwing her a shower in two short weeks! I better get on it.

8. Save/Raise enough money for Ride4Life. For the past couple years, my dad has participated in a bicycle ride that is 300 miles over 3 days and my mom and I do support and Cory does whatever they need him to! All the money raised goes towards a local pregnancy center so we’ve got to either raise the money or save our donation amount. The ride is the third weekend in June so we’ve only got a few weeks left!

9. Start the Tone It Up Bikini Series. Kristen’s wedding is in four short weeks and I’m gonna need my dress to fit!

I’m sharing my monthly goals over Tuesday Tea with Jenni and Maeg at The Modern Tulip
