Life Lately
Happy Friday my long, lost friends! It’s been forever since I’ve update y’all on anything other than the kitchen, so let’s catch up.
Graduation {our busiest week of the year} was last week. I had a couple long 12 hour days and I’m so glad it’s over! I didn’t get home until almost 9:00 o’clock Friday night and as soon as I got home, I crashed. Cory was so sweet and had dinner waiting for me. I was almost too tired to eat hibachi but I suffered through.
Please ignore my messy bed {I never make it. I know, I know.} but I was shocked when I looked in the mirror and my makeup had held up all day long.
Don’t I look shocked? Ha.
I didn’t even hear Cory get up Saturday morning. He was out of the house, set up the band equipment for Sunday and brought me breakfast in bed before I even thought about moving.
Sorry, Stein. No breakfast for you. But how adorable is that face??
We’re so over this kitchen renovation. When we first started, we had no idea we’d still be working on it two months later. To say we underestimated the size of this project would be the understatement of the year. We’re ready for everything to be back to normal, especially our house. I just wanna lay on my couch! It’s exhausting spending every free second on the kitchen and we’ve had absolutely zero time for anything else i.e blogging.
BUT…I finally got a new computer! I’ve been dying to really break it in because Lord, knows I’ve got tons of projects and reviews I need to work on like sharing the exterior of our house. Can’t blame that on the computer though since we just got the shutters hung up this past weekend. {We made them over a month ago, y’all.}
I ended up going with the Macbook Pro and so far, I’m loving it. It was an investment and one we really didn’t want to have to make on top of the kitchen but my old computer had all but stopped working.
I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I was seriously giddy with excitement. It’s been a LONG time coming!
On Sunday, we took a break from the kitchen to celebrate our mamas. Cory lead worship at church so his mom came with us that morning and we had lunch afterwards.
I treated my mom to a pedicure that afternoon and we grilled hamburgers at their house Sunday evening. Gracie just looks so grown up here. She needs to just STOP growing!
Charley has been in heat for the past two weeks and O.M.G. It’s kinda disgusting and the only time I’ve been thankful we don’t have any of our living room furniture in the house for her to be all over. We’ve had her in diapers to keep the mess down but we’ve never had to experience this before and the day she is done {out of heat?} she will be seeing Dr. Shane to get fixed.
Homegirl has gone wild. Anytime she gets a chance, she’s been running off. At first, we didn’t have the collar on her because she had been staying in the yard with us. And then the battery died in her collar. And then she got out of the house {she can open the door if it isn’t locked} before we could get the collar on her and Monday night, well, we still aren’t sure what happened. She had the collar on and it has a new battery in it but she still went missing around 11:00 pm. We think that the collar just needed to be reset because we had unplugged the transmitter earlier that day to paint.
After about 30 minutes of use driving around the neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods, she finally came back home. Let’s just pray she isn’t pregnant!
I’m pretty sure she was feeling a little guilty the next morning.
And because I can’t post without giving you some kind of kitchen update…
We’re still making progress. We got the primer on the walls, so we’re hoping to be hanging cabinets this weekend! EEEK!
We had hoped to have all the painting done this week but I still haven’t decided on paint colors. Why I am so indecisive?? I’m so sick of choosing paint colors.
But really it’s Caleb’s fault. He’s been home this week from Austin and Cory’s been way more interested in spending time with his brother than working on the kitchen. Thanks for the break, Caleb. I mean, darn you, Caleb. ;)
I’m pretty sure Charley loves her Uncle Caleb as much as her daddy does.
And this is my happy face because it’s the weekend. That and because we are done with drywall, fingers crossed!

They say if a marriage can survive a renovation, you have a good one :)
I always get my animals spayed & neutered before they get those first instincts… always the best decision ever made.
Look how cute your hubs is in the pink for Mother’s Day :) & that you match in pink – so precious you two are!

LOVE THE IDEA OF PUTTING A DIAPER ON HER, I SHOULD OF DONE THAT WITH BRADY WHEN HE WAS NEUTERED BECAUSE HE WOULD NOT STOP LICKING DOWN THERE!

Congrats on the new computer, that’s so exciting! I’m sure the renovation process has been frustrating especially since it’s taken longer than expected, but once you have that beautiful new kitchen, it will all be worth it!

i ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR DRESS- SUPER CUTE!!

I love your pink and white striped dress! And I’m sure the renovation is exhausting, but I’m so envious that you have a house and can do stuff like that! I can’t wait until we live in a house and not teeny apartments (that you can’t renovate at allll!).
