Five on Friday {Thankful November}, Part Two
Well, well, well. Today I say “what a week” in a completely different context. Not because I had a busy week at work and got a lot accomplished at home or here on the blog. Actually, I slept the majority of the week.
Last Friday, I woke up with a sore throat and coughing and by Friday night felt like I had been run over by bus. I slept for 15 hours Friday night.
15 hours.
By Sunday I couldn’t take it any longer and went to Urgent Care. I hadn’t been running a fever so I thought it was bronchitis or an upper repository infection but nope, it was the flu.
The flu ain’t kidding. It has knocked me on my butt for a solid week. I started to feel a little bit like myself yesterday but I’ve got no stamina. I did manage to wash our sheets yesterday and just cleaned the kitchen, which may or may not have been the first time it’s been cleaned all week.
Ahem.
Onto the point of this post…Five on Friday {Thankful November}.
{One}
My health.
Even though it’s been a rough week in this aspect, I am so thankful for good health. This week could have been so much worse but thankfully it was just the seasonal flu. You see it all over, especially on social media, of people {of all ages} suffering with a terminal illness. In comparison, my week long spout with the flu has been a walk in the park. My family and I are so blessed for having good health.
{Two}
My home.
It’s nothing spectacular or even very large but it’s ours. We own it. And it’s warm and cozy especially when you’ve been sick with the flu all week. We live in a such a “bigger is better world” but my Mom text me this week about a man and his 6 year old daughter sleeping in a homeless shelter. It sure makes me thankful that Cory and I have a place that we can lay our heads down at night and rest peacefully.
{Three & Four}
So they don’t think I’m playing favorites I will do them together…my Mom and Dad.
I know everyone thinks that their parents are the best but in my personal opinion, mine take 1st place.
They still treat me like their “little girl” especially this week since I’ve been sick. You know what? I don’t mind. Cory and I have been so blessed to have such a wonderful example of a loving, Godly couple who after 29 years still are in love with each other. My Mama is my best friend and my Daddy has always been my rock. I’m so thankful to have such a great relationship with both my parents.
{Five}
Blogging.
I know I’m still new at blogging but I’m so thankful that I took the leap of faith and started. If it hadn’t of been for Mandy at House of Rose, I would have never started. She is so inspiring and pretty much has all the information you need to get started. I’m not a great writer and I know that but I love I have my own little space on this great big world known as the internet where I can share my ideas and show my creative side.
Happy Friday and have a good weekend, y’all!
