Five on Friday
Happy Friday, y’all! We’ve successfully {for the most part} finished our second week of fasting and while I’d like to say “it’s great! so easy. you should totally do it”, all I can think about is how hungry I am. I’ve been reminding myself constantly why we are doing this and when all I want to do is eat a whole box of Oreo’s, I’ve been praying for strength to not give in! The struggle has been real.
ONE | Happy 9th birthday, Gracie girl! Where in the world has the time gone?? I promise you that just yesterday, she could lie stretched out on my lap, and then I blinked and she’s texting and likes coffee.
She’s gone from a crazy-haired wild child to a smart, loving little girl with such a kind soul. She’s reserved around strangers but talks 90 mph when she gets to know you. She’s witty, way too clever for her age, {always has been!} and has a sass about her that stuns me sometimes! From the day she was born, she’s had us all wrapped around that little finger!
I think what I’m most excited about though is celebrating tonight with pizza. I mean, we couldn’t tell her no, right??
TWO | Have y’all seen this mashup? Two of my favorite songs right now!
THREE | I have to be honest, y’all. I’m not really feeling Valentine’s day this year. It’s not that I don’t want to celebrate my valentine, I mean who wouldn’t want to celebrate this cutie?
I’m just not prepared whatsoever. Last year, I was on my A-game. This year, I don’t even have a card.
FOUR | Speaking of last year, if you need any last minute ideas, check out the 12 days of Valentine’s I did for Cory, including a link to the printables.
FIVE | Obviously, we are keeping Valentine’s low-key this year {which isn’t really that different than years past} but we were stumped as to what to do on Saturday until I came across this post by Lisa.
We decided to geocaching Saturday afternoon and then we plan to move our mattress into the living room, light a fire, and have dinner and a movie in bed. Perfection, if you ask me!
Just in case you need a few more ideas that won’t break the bank, check out these that Biana shared!
One last thing…did y’all see Scandal last night??? What did you think? I think it was better than the last couple episodes. I find myself tensed up just waiting to see what’s gonna happen next and I haven’t felt that way about a show in forever!
Happy Valentine’s day, y’all! I hope you all get to spend lots of time with the one you love!

I am so behind on scandal so I have no idea what is going on. We definitely don’t celebrate Valentine’s day at all, but always looking for some good date night ideas! Have a good weekend :)

I totally don’t have it together for valentine’s this year either! I was planning on just making him breakfast or something. Oops. Love the cheap date ideas though. Have a good weekend lady!

Your Valentines plans sound perfect! We’re not even celebrating because we’re going to be out of town, oops haha. Next year ;) And Scandal was definitely better last night – I wasn’t a huge fan of the first couple of episodes! Happy Friday!

Happy Birthday to Gracie, she is too cute! That hot tamale printable is too cute, and it sounds like y’all had great Vday plans even if it was casual, sometimes those are the best. Hope you’re having a great week so far and stay strong on your fasting, you can do it!

We had a very low key Valentine’s Day too. And I think we haven’t done cards for a few years in a row. The first year was because we agreed not to. And now we’re just not remembering to get them :) Hope you had a fun weekend and are having a good week so far! See you this Friday for H54F!!

I totally get not wanting to do a ton for Valentine’s Day. I planned a fairly elaborate little date at home, but the morning was stressful and just not fun when things were going wrong. The best thing about it is spending time with your Valentine :)
See you this Friday for H54F!

Aww! Happy belated birthday to your sister! I wasn’t (and never really am) prepared for Valentine’s. We never do anything for that “holiday”. But I really think your 12 days of Valentine’s gifts are really cleaver and cute!

The pictures of you and your sister are so sweet. I love when people brag on their siblings. I don’t feel enough people do. It almost feels rebellious in fact to do it these days, but really brothers and sisters can make it so easy. :) As for the low-key Valentines, I think those are the best. It always seems like those are the most thoughtful. :)
