Five on Friday
Happy Friday, ya’ll! I had plans to post my five favorite Christmas decorations and actually take pictures with my camera but I ended up addressing Christmas cards all evening last night {which I proceeded to leave on the kitchen table this morning!} so that idea went out the window. Instead you get five very grainy iPhone pictures of some of my favorite things this week.
#sorrynotsorry
ONE | I switched out a fake wreath with a real one with some inspiration from Elise’s mantel and I’m loving the Christmas vibe it’s bringing to our dining room! And I made the easiest bow thanks to Maggie’s awesome bow tutorial!
TWO | Since we were in Austin, I’ve had a craving for a brownie and ice cream so Tuesday I was determined to satisfy that craving. My hubs was sweet enough to go pick me up one and it was delicious!
THREE | I can’t even handle the look on Einsteins face. We don’t always let the dogs sleep with us {because they sleep like this} but we’ve been going 90 mph and didn’t even mind them piling on top of us. I think we all four slept exactly like this all night.
FOUR | I’ve been in the basketball coliseum working most of this week, preparing for graduation, and as we went to leave yesterday we walked out to a winter wonderland! The basketball team does a Christmas party for underprivileged kids and they did it up with the decorations.
FIVE | A few years ago, my MIL bought me an inflatable penguin that she found at a yard sale for $5. While putting out our decorations, Cory informed me that he had to trash the penguin after last year because it was mostly tape and not so much penguin. I had no idea that he was going out everyday and taping it up before I got home because he knew how much I loved it. I collect penguins, by the way, and even though I’m not that into inflatables, the penguin was probably my favorite part. I was devastated! Well fast forward to last night when I ran into Big Lots and found this 8ft penguin {twice as big as the one we had} on sale for $24.
I was too excited to wait until we had daylight to put it up so my sweet husband put it up in the dark for me.
We’ve got a couple Christmas parties to go to this weekend and I’m hoping to have time to for a Christmas DIY and get my Christmas home tour ready. What are your plans this weekend?
Whatever they may be, I hope they are filled with lots of Christmas goodness!

I left my cards on the kitchen table too! What is with that? I was up until midnight finishing them. I ended up dropping my kids off and running back for them before work because I was so desperate to get them out today. Love your blog, found it on the link up.
