Five on Friday
Happy Halloween, y’all! It’s been a busy week at work full of needy college students and I’ve been fighting a headache all week. Here’s to hoping we have a calm day at the office!
In case you missed my post yesterday, I shared the exact moment in Rwanda where I knew I was doing exactly what God called me to do and I’m really starting to understand why I’ve struggled so much with being back in the states.
But back to business as usual…
ONE | In case you’re wondering if our Halloween plans will include a haunted house, I’ll let these pictures answer that for ya.
This was almost ten years ago and I’ve never stepped foot in another haunted house. And to be honest, this wasn’t even a real haunted house. It was one of those haunted rides at the fair and I’m pretty sure there were children half my age that weren’t as scared as me.
TWO | We didn’t get the dogs new costumes this year because how many costumes do dogs really need? Don’t answer that, Cory!
See how much my dogs love Halloween?
THREE | After wearing the same pair of leggings all last winter, I knew it was time to invest in a new pair. I must have looked at Sheaffer’s highly recommend leggings 729 times last year but finally pulled the trigger on them with some birthday money.
Oh.my.word! Why did I wait so long?? I wore them all day on Sunday {and even took a nap in them} and they held there shape ALL day. If you haven’t picked up a pair yet, you are seriously missing out.
FOUR | I’ve seen this scarf all over blogland the past couple weeks and as soon as I found out it was only $16.99 at Target, I immediately headed to the closest store to see if it was available. Of course, they were all sold out and weren’t in stock anywhere in SC or GA. Just my luck!
BUT…somehow Amber found two in Greenville last weekend and picked me up one. Is she not the best?
It’s a close call but this scarf may have officially taken my #1 spot over my leopard print Michael Kors scarf from last year. Shocking, I know.
FIVE | For the past couple months, Cory and I have been considering canceling our DirecTV account. He could care less about watching TV but it’s one of my favorite things to do. {Sad to admit but true.} We’ve pretty much come up with a way to watch all of our favorite shows without having satellite except for Pretty Little Liars and of course, college football but those alone aren’t worth the $80/month we spend. Do any of y’all live without satellite or cable? Will I survive without being able to watch my favorite shows on DVR?
Kidding about the surviving part. Kind of.
So we still haven’t decided what our Halloween plans are but I’m thinking after the week I’ve had that staying at home doesn’t sound too bad. We aren’t real big into Halloween so neither of us have a costume, if we did decide to go somewhere. What are your plans? Do you go big for Halloween or are you more likely to chill at home and watch Hocus Pocus?

Those superhero dog costumes are just the cutest! And I’m with you on the haunted house…someone always tries to drag me there every year, but I’m way too chicken to do it!

I got those leggings this year at the anniversary sale and they are life changing!!! Seriously, so amazing.. I want to buy them in every color now! I’m surprised you can’t watch Pretty Little Liars online? Happy weekend!

The dogs costumes are so cute! My dogs would never let me put something on them! haha :) I love that plaid scarf! How sweet of your friend to pick one up for you! I know what you mean about the TV… We barely watch ours but we can’t seem to get rid of it. I lowered our plan for a year to only like $30 a month for the bare miniumum and the hubs had a heart attack because he couldn’t watch hunting shows anymore. So then while he increased our channel plan back up he also ordered a DVR so that he really didn’t miss any hunting shows. So as of a couple months ago we’re back up to a $65 plan. If you can find a way to watch the shows you really want to watch, then I would say it’s definitely worth it!

We’ve considered cancelling cable and only doing Netflix, but we watch too much sports to make it work for now. I love your dog’s SuperHero Costumes! So cute! I really want those leggings now too. They look so comfy. :)

Oh my gosh, those pictures of you in the haunted house are hilarious. I get so scared in those things. We didn’t do one this year but last year I went the day after I got my hair highlighted and with all the black lights going on my hair glowed in the dark so they targeted me the whole time. :(
Love the dogs’ Halloween costumes, they are so stinkin cute! And, those leggings look amazing and that scarf is perfect! Have a great weekend!

oh those pictures are hilarious… and i am right there with you. i hate haunted houses or anything like it. when i went to london in 2009 (or was it 2007? i have no idea anymore) we went to madame tussauds and there was like a london themed haunted house you had to go through to get out, and i crawled to the corner and sat there and cried until they let me out. seriously they thought i was joking because it’s suitable for kids, and i was freaking out.
