Five on Friday

Happy Friday, y’all! Another week is almost under our belt and we’ve got a busy weekend ahead of us! My brothers leave for the National Guard on Monday so we’ve got a going away party for them tonight, Clemson football and Oktoberfest tomorrow and Cory’s mom is coming into town on Sunday. I also wanted to get our bedroom painted this weekend sometime, in between all that! It’s gonna be go, go, go all weekend but I’m ready for everything it will bring!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOGFriday FavoritesMomfessionals

I’m linking up with all kinds of fun ladies today {darci, karli, amanda, lauren, andrea} …you should too!

ONE | Snuggly pups.

Hampton

If you read about our horrible experience at the Apple Orchard than you know the trouble we’ve been having with our dogs and their separation anxiety.  Since last weekend, when we came home to pee on our couch TWICE, we decided to start kenneling Hampton during the day. For the first two years of his life, he spent every day in there and I hated doing it then but I worked close enough to come home at lunch and let him out. Now, I don’t and it absolutely breaks my heart to see his puppy eyes glaring at me every morning.

The only good thing about kenneling him again is the snuggles I’m getting in the evenings. This week with all the rain we’ve had and a snuggly Hampton has made it glorious for curling up on the couch and not moving for the rest of the evening! Our hope is that in a few weeks, he won’t freak out as much and will be okay to leave out during the day.

TWO | Friends who will walk your dogs.

Amber doesn’t go into work until 2:30 so I asked her on Tuesday if she would mind running to the house and letting Hampton out for a few minutes before she went to work. To which she replied “I was actually wanting to ask you if you would mind if I started taking them on walks? It would be before I go to work so like around 12? It gives me an incentive to walk.”

Uh, heck yes! It’s a huge blessing to have friends that love your dogs just as much as you do!

PS- please notice how big Hampton’s butt is!

THREE | Parks and Recreation.

How have I not discovered this show sooner??? Cory and I are HUGE fans of The Office {it was a huge staple in our relationship} and I was so depressed when it went off. All Cory had to do was tell me he found a show that was “very similar” to The Office and I was hooked. Needless to say, it’s been a Netflix binge fest at the Sloan’s for the past couple weeks.

FOUR | Sleeping in sheds.

Some of you may not know this about my husband but he can fall asleep in the craziest places, in an instant. Like at a tailgate with a plate of food in his lap.

Or in his truck, parked in the carport while cleaning it out. But what I found last night takes the cake…

Cory was in our shed putting this papasan chair up and after 10 minutes or so I realized he was still outside so I peeked out the door to find him sound asleep. In our shed. In a papasan chair.

Blows my mind every time.

In case you  missed my first Rwanda recap yesterday, you can read all about our departure, arrival and first full day in Africa here. I can’t wait to share our first day in Nyabihu with y’all next Thursday because the there is a cuteness overload of children!

What are your plans for the weekend? Will it be a busy one like us?

Happy weekend, y’all!
