Five on Friday

Happy Friday, y’all! It’s been a good week- as in no tears were shed for Rwanda and it’s only been three weeks! Not that I don’t miss that place like crazy but I wasn’t miserable. #winning Plus, Wednesday was my birthday so the whole week has been devoted towards celebrating. I didn’t hate it.

Five on Friday FINAL

ONE | On Sunday, we put our community group to work. One of the main things we did in Rwanda was interview the children so we can make profiles for each child in hopes that a face and a little information will entice people to start sponsoring a child or continue sponsoring the child. We came home with 3 spiral notebooks full of little interviews and had about 80 that we needed to get typed up. Rather than Cory and I slaving over it for the next couple weeks, we invited our community group to bring their computers and help us knock them out!  We were able to get them all typed in one night which was such a huge burden lifted off Cory and myself. Thanks for the help, y’all!

Small group TWO | Monday night we had dinner at my parents house to celebrate mine and Cory’s birthday. My mom made these pumpkin spice cheesecake enchiladas for dessert and oh.my.goodness. they were so good! Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Enchiladas THREE | Amber dropped by a birthday present and when I opened it up, I discovered this beauty. She remembered me saying in Rwanda that I searched for a blue puffer vest all last winter but couldn’t find one. So, she ordered me one for my birthday! Of course, every day since I got it it’s been at least 80 degrees but I’m dying to wear it. She is seriously the most thoughtful person! Puffer Vest FOUR | In case you missed it, Cory hacked my blog on Wednesday and wrote this post for my birthday. I’ve read it probably 25 times {crying every time} because it’s the most incredibly sweet thing he’s ever written for me. How did I get so lucky??? IMG_4210.JPG FIVE | After our fiasco of a trip to the apple orchard, the only thing I wanted to do for my birthday was go to a pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins. Turns out, we’ve got some pretty awesome pumpkin patches right in town! IMG_4232.JPGIMG_4223.JPG I think it’s supposed to be a pretty dreary weekend here in South Carolina but we’re gonna try and make the most out of it! We’ve got Pumpkintown festival, football and good friends on our agenda and I can’t wait! Happy weekend, y’all!
