Christmas Town USA
Oh. my. gosh. This place is incredible. And I’m not even gonna pretend that Gracie was the one who really wanted to go to Christmas Town USA. It was me. I adore Christmas lights and if I thought for two seconds our neighbors wouldn’t say something, I would leave mine up year round. I found out about this place a few years ago and we finally made it the day after Christmas. It was about a two hour trip {and worth every second of the drive} and this little town known as McAdenville was like something out of a movie. What I’d give if I could live in a neighborhood like this.
I was trying to tell Gracie how to focus the picture. I think she did pretty good for a seven year old. If only I had been ready.
The day after Christmas was the last day to see the lights and I read it was normally busy. All the lights are on a timer meaning they shut off at 9:30 {on weeknights} no matter if you’ve gotten through the town or not. I didn’t want to miss anything so we got there around 5:00 and parked. We were a little early because the lights didn’t come on until 5:30 but were able to get a good parking spot and walked around the downtown area until the lights came on. You have the option to drive through the town but it’s only about a mile walk and I would suggest walking because traffic was very slow moving. A trip to McAdenville will definitely become a family tradition for the Sloans.
