Christmas Home Tour 2014

Happy Monday, y’all! Normally, I would share my weekend recap with you but it looked a lot like finishing my Christmas decorations and a whole lot of cleaning the house with a Christmas party or two thrown in there. I figured y’all really didn’t want to see a bunch of pictures of me in my pj’s working around the house but would much rather see the fruits of my labor so today I’m sharing my Christmas home tour!

I can feel my style shifting–in the past it’s been a lot of bright reds and greens with glitter everything and this year I really started leaning more towards the classic Christmas decorations by using a lot of real evergreen clippings and solid reds. While I did pick up a few new pieces, many of the decorations I have are the same as last year {who can afford a completely new “theme” every year??} but are re-purposed, pulled from the depths of my cabinets, or reversed fabric for a new look.  I did search high and low for some pillows and a blanket but with no luck.

I think the mixed style goes together nicely, though.

Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to the Sloans, where even our Christmas decorations are Clemsonized.

For some reason, I always start my home tours from the front door but we never use the front door. Like ever. So today we are starting with the back door.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. My house has to be the hardest space to photograph. While it’s a pretty open floor plan, the only windows are in the living room and the sunlight comes in very harshly if the front door is open. Since we’ve painted our bedroom a light grey, I’ve got an itch to paint the main living area a lighter color and paint the beams to to brighten it all up. Cory swore he’d never paint this space again, so we shall see.

I don’t think I’ve ever showed our little kitchen because this is the first year I’ve ever put any decorations in it besides the cookie jar. Oh, so much green!

Please excuse the puppy butt. With two wild pups, every shot can’t be perfect.

More Clemson decorations {I told ya!}

The Christmas tree is by far my most favorite part.

Cory made these penguin snow globes for me a few years ago and I just adore them. Yes, they are Dill pickle jars but they were made with love.

I even added a little holiday cheer to the bathroom. Isn’t that penguin just adorable?

Thanks for joining my Christmas home tour! Let me know if you’ve done one too because I just love seeing how others decorate their homes!
