Christmas Home Tour 2014
Happy Monday, y’all! Normally, I would share my weekend recap with you but it looked a lot like finishing my Christmas decorations and a whole lot of cleaning the house with a Christmas party or two thrown in there. I figured y’all really didn’t want to see a bunch of pictures of me in my pj’s working around the house but would much rather see the fruits of my labor so today I’m sharing my Christmas home tour!
I can feel my style shifting–in the past it’s been a lot of bright reds and greens with glitter everything and this year I really started leaning more towards the classic Christmas decorations by using a lot of real evergreen clippings and solid reds. While I did pick up a few new pieces, many of the decorations I have are the same as last year {who can afford a completely new “theme” every year??} but are re-purposed, pulled from the depths of my cabinets, or reversed fabric for a new look. I did search high and low for some pillows and a blanket but with no luck.
I think the mixed style goes together nicely, though.
Welcome to the Sloans, where even our Christmas decorations are Clemsonized.
For some reason, I always start my home tours from the front door but we never use the front door. Like ever. So today we are starting with the back door.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. My house has to be the hardest space to photograph. While it’s a pretty open floor plan, the only windows are in the living room and the sunlight comes in very harshly if the front door is open. Since we’ve painted our bedroom a light grey, I’ve got an itch to paint the main living area a lighter color and paint the beams to to brighten it all up. Cory swore he’d never paint this space again, so we shall see.
I don’t think I’ve ever showed our little kitchen because this is the first year I’ve ever put any decorations in it besides the cookie jar. Oh, so much green!
Please excuse the puppy butt. With two wild pups, every shot can’t be perfect.
More Clemson decorations {I told ya!}
The Christmas tree is by far my most favorite part.
Cory made these penguin snow globes for me a few years ago and I just adore them. Yes, they are Dill pickle jars but they were made with love.
I even added a little holiday cheer to the bathroom. Isn’t that penguin just adorable?
Thanks for joining my Christmas home tour! Let me know if you’ve done one too because I just love seeing how others decorate their homes!

I so love it all!
I adore that little peppermint Christmas tree!
I get so jealous of everyone that has clean counter tops!!! Mine is so lost in the chaos of Christmas!!! …. I never decorate my kitchen – I need to do that…
Your home looks so adorable & cozy

Oh my goodness, your house is beautiful first off! You should totally paint that room a lighter colour but I’d leave the beams, at least at first, and then paint them if you still don’t like the ‘after’ from changing the wall colour. Natural beams are so pretty!
Your house basically looks like a Christmas store, lol I love it! I seriously have like 2 decorations besides the tree which is also pretty sparse. Oh and I love that framed picture of your wedding with the bushes? So pretty!

Your tree is amazing, love it! I believe I said this last month on your fall decor post, but your house looks so cozy and I love that. It really reminds me of ours :) I hear you on the shift of style, last year that happened for me. I got rid of so much stuff that we’d bought when we first got married. I wanted some nicer items now.

Love it all! Especially your tree… gorgeous. And I’m slightly jealous of your decor collection… I bought a few things this year but realized it can get real expensive real quick, haha

Your home looks so cute! I LOVE the tree, you did an amazing job! This is our second Christmas at home and decorating the tree scares me a bit so I’m gonna have to take some pointers from you! And the pickle jar snow globes from Cory are too cute!
The kitchen looks amazing and I love your little Clemson tree! Hope you have a great week girly!

I didn’t realize you were a Clemson fan – I think we have to have a rap battle or something now. I graduated from USC XD. Your house is gorgeous and festive, and I think the red looks so warm and cozy.

Wow it all looks great! I love your decor above your kitchen cabinets and the ribbon and wreath on your china cabinet. Your tree is gorgeous!! I did not go all out this year and it definitely doesn’t feel as festive!

I absolutely love your tree! You’ve done such a great job of making your home cozy and Christmasy! Is the angel on the cut out in your kitchen a Heartwood Creek angel? If so, I have the autumn “bountiful” one and think it’s so pretty :)
