Christmas 2014 pt. 1

Man, oh man…what a Christmas week we’ve had! We started our Christmas celebrations LAST Saturday and finished them up yesterday afternoon. I don’t think it gets much better than celebrating Christmas for a solid week but it’s left us exhausted and bummed about being back at work today.

Not to mention, I came down with a nasty cold on Christmas night and spent the majority of the weekend sleeping. I really got the good end of that stick with just a cold though, because my mom also got sick on Christmas night and she tested positive for the flu on Friday morning. We are really praying no one else in our family gets it!

So onto our Christmas 2014 {my apologies for a very picture heavy post}…

SATURDAY |

We kicked off our Christmas celebration by hosting Cory’s Mom and her family at our house Saturday night.

SUNDAY |

We had lunch at my mom’s parents, which I didn’t get any pictures at {blogger fail!}, and then headed to our ugly Christmas Sweater Party.

I had high hopes of getting a lot accomplished Monday and Tuesday buuuut I got absolutely nothing accomplished except sleeping in late, staying in my PJ’s until way after lunch and watching Hallmark Christmas movies on repeat.

I did get the dogs groomed, so there’s that.

CHRISTMAS EVE |

We loaded up the car, dropped the dogs off at my parents’ house and then headed to Cory’s grandparents’ for Christmas Eve dinner.

Afterwards, we headed back to my parents’ house where Gracie and Taylor were allowed to open their gifts from Cory and me and they got new PJ’s from my parents. This tradition was a little different this year as we used to swap all of the sibling gifts and we all got new PJ’s but Cory and I didn’t buy gifts for anyone except Gracie and Taylor.

Einstein just loves his Gracie Girl hence his appearance in almost every picture of her.

He’s actually smiling. I can’t even handle it.

IMG_1932

Y’all! I just can’t.

And then Santa’s elves got busy wrapping!

This was the first year that John and Jordan were allowed to help and even though I had to teach Jordan how to wrap a gift, we were in bed before midnight. That’s a new record!

We must have had two very good girls this year!

CHRISTMAS DAY |

While on our honeymoon in St. Lucia, Cory and I bought my parents a conch shell which Cory has used the past couple of years to wake everyone up on Christmas morning. This was at almost 7:00am and we had to wake them up! That never happened when we were kids.

Her body guards.

And of course, the boys got their stockings full of new treats and a couple of bones.

She was actually speechless!

Max, Gracie’s dog, absolutely loves Cory {for whatever reason} and if he has a shirt on, he’s tolerable. If he doesn’t, he’s the Tasmanian Devil.

Since this is already a very long post and I’ve still got lots of pictures to share from our Christmas week, check back tomorrow for Christmas 2014 pt. 2!
