    To Gammy’s House We Go…

This summer has looked so different for the Sloans, as I’m sure it did many families. In early June, we learned that our flights to Rwanda in July had been canceled which was heartbreaking. However, with Cory working for himself now, it freed up some time for us to take an actual vacation- like a full week of time together not on the mission field, something we haven’t had in years. Mountain Getaway 2019- Hiawassee

Growing up, my grandparents and great-grandparents lived in the mountains of NC and every Christmas my family would make the trek up there to spend some time with them. Mountain Getaway 2018: Franklin

Every Christmas, my family takes a mountain trip. In the past, we’ve always gone after Christmas but due to work schedules, we went last weekend before the holiday. We’ve tried a few different places over the years like Lake Lure, NC, Dillard, GA, and this year, we headed to Franklin, NC. My dad typically finds a house on AirBnB and this year he found the cutest remodeled farmhouse. It had a ton of history, dating back to the early 1900’s, which is right up Cory’s alley.

Beach Pictures at Tybee Island 2018

Our final evening on Tybee Island, we headed back out to the beach to get a few pictures of Baker in her beautiful “beach dress”. Every little girl needs pictures in a white dress on the beach, right? A few of these were snapped on my cell phone, which is why the quality is lower, but the rest were taken from my good camera- the DSLR. I don’t mean to toot my own horn but I think I captured some really great shots of our girl. Also, these pictures would not have been possible without the three adults and two other kids there to help. Pictures of a toddler are…
