Painted Brick Reveal
We finally have some sense of normalcy back on our lives so I thought I would share a little reveal with ya’ll. No, it’s not our kitchen! Half our furniture is still in the carport and our house is a disaster but we have what looks like a kitchen {we’ve actually been able to cook in it!}. We’ve still got a long way to go before it’s ready-ready to reveal, though. Over two months ago, I shared that Cory and I decided to stay put and make our house work for us, but making our house work for us meant some pretty drastic updates. Well, one of the first of those…
24 Paint Samples
Choosing paint colors was the part I’ve been dreading most about this kitchen renovation. Any indecisive person can relate to my nightmare: having to choose from 17 million colors. I’ve been scouring Pinterest for weeks now and had a list of colors I wanted to try so when I left Home Depot on Saturday with 12 paint samples, I was pretty confident that I would have at least one color that I liked. Life Lately
Happy Friday my long, lost friends! It’s been forever since I’ve update y’all on anything other than the kitchen, so let’s catch up. Graduation {our busiest week of the year} was last week. I had a couple long 12 hour days and I’m so glad it’s over! I didn’t get home until almost 9:00 o’clock Friday night and as soon as I got home, I crashed. Cory was so sweet and had dinner waiting for me. I was almost too tired to eat hibachi but I suffered through.
The Day It Finally Happened
I knew it was coming, y’all. The tension in the Sloan household has been high for the past couple weeks. Everything has been a struggle. It seems like nothing has gone back up as smoothly as it came down and there really hasn’t been much I can do to help. My suggestions are always shot down- mainly because they’re always “who can we call? Your dad? Vince? John, the next door neighbor? He was a brick mason, he should know about plumbing, right?!” Apparently, those aren’t the suggestions he wants to hear. After 6 long weeks of renovating our kitchen, it finally happened.
