Burlap Fall Mantel

Burlap Fall Mantel

I know I missed the whole first day of Fall craze here in blogland but in all honesty, I’ve had my burlap fall mantel up since the end of August. I was hoping to get this post up before we left for Rwanda but that just didn’t happen {obviously!}. I decided to switch my mantel up from last year partly because it is geared more towards Thanksgiving but mostly because I just wanted something different. I originally planned on changing it out closer to Thanksgiving, since we really don’t decorate for Halloween, but I’m pretty crazy about my burlap fall mantel, so we’ll have to see!

This chevron pumpkin was actually a scheduled DIY post last fall but I let time slip away from me and moved on to Christmas before I got around to posting it. Maybe I’ll share it this year?  If you’d like to see how I made it, let me know and I throw a post together!

Hopefully, I will get around to finishing the rest of my house and will do a complete fall home tour in the next couple of weeks but I hope you enjoyed my burlap fall mantel!

Christmas Home Tour

Can you believe we are in the final countdown to Christmas? Where did 2013 go? After last night, I think I’m officially ready for the big day. I’m still waiting on one gift to arrive but all my others are wrapped and under the tree.<

Today, I’m sharing my Christmas home tour. If you want to see more details on my Christmas tree, mantle or my living room hop on over to the individual post.  You should definitely finish reading this post first, then check ’em out!

As you walk in our front door, you will be welcomed by two wild haired dogs to our front entry way {hallway}. Let me just say that our house was built in the late sixties and our house is somewhat odd and not symmetrical. At all. We have some areas that are impossible to get good pictures of and this is one of them. Since no one ever comes in our front door, I often forget about this area but Cory made these penguin snow globes for me last year and my entry way is a perfect place to display them.

If you walk across the living room, you can see the cut through to the kitchen with the entry way on one side and the dining room on the other.

As we go to leave the living room, you’ll see that I’ve got my Clemson tree in the corner.

Next, we’ll head into our dining room. Just like the entry way, the dining room is hard to photograph. There isn’t much light and I had to give up on trying to get a decent picture of my china cabinet. Maybe one day, I’ll figure this fancy camera out and have better pictures to share.

Maybe.

Once we are through the dining room, the kitchen is to your left. We’ve said since the day we moved in that it seems like the builder forgot the kitchen and had to just stick it in where ever there was enough space. We think this is why it’s so tiny.

Thank you for joining my on my Christmas home tour and I really hope you enjoyed it. Maybe one day I will get around to decorating my whole house but right now the bedrooms look like a couple tornadoes came through.

Cory and I are off to a couple Christmas family gatherings today and I’m so ready to relax and enjoy my wonderful family. I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
