Painted Brick Reveal
We finally have some sense of normalcy back on our lives so I thought I would share a little reveal with ya’ll. No, it’s not our kitchen! Half our furniture is still in the carport and our house is a disaster but we have what looks like a kitchen {we’ve actually been able to cook in it!}. We’ve still got a long way to go before it’s ready-ready to reveal, though.
Over two months ago, I shared that Cory and I decided to stay put and make our house work for us, but making our house work for us meant some pretty drastic updates. Well, one of the first of those updates was to go from nasty orange, vintage brick to painted brick. Update was what we wanted and transformation was what we got!
Just a little reminder of what we started with…
And BAM! A brand spankin’ new {lookin’} house.
In addition to having the brick painted, we also had a new roof put on {goodbye, ugly brown roof!} and made new shutters which you can find the tutorial HERE.
Please excuse all the yellowish window sills. That’s just a normal Spring pollen explosion here in SC and well, we are still just too busy to be cleaning window sills. Heck, even if we weren’t in the middle of a kitchen reno, I probably still wouldn’t be cleaning window sills.
We plan on getting a new door at some point but one just wasn’t in our budget right now. Doors are expensive, ya’ll! So we made do and painted the door we had. It’s so bright and cheery now. I don’t hate it.
I still can’t believe the transformation our house has taken. I drive up every day and just can’t help but grin at the fact that this cute little house is ours!
In the words of my nine year-old little sister, “Paige and Cory’s neighbors must hate them now. The Sloan’s house isn’t the ugliest house in the neighborhood anymore and that means that it’s one of theirs.”
Praise Jesus, I never have to look at all the brown again!

Wow! It looks like a completely different house! It’s so much more modern looking now. I love the colors you picked and I love the painted front door! I wish we didn’t have an HOA so I could paint our house something other than brown!

I so love painted Brick… the houses in Nashville are all painted & I’m obsessed with it.
I so love the grey. We walked past one in Nashville that was grey with blue shutters… I fell in love. This reminds me of that.

Looks great! I am curious about how you painted the storm door and the sidelite white because I really want to do this to my brown door.
Paige @ Reasons to Come Home
Hi Dani! We used exterior paint that was used for the windows. We just used a regular paint brush and the guy that painted our house painted all our trim.
Joni

I know you stated the colors at the bottom of the post and maybe I’m just dumb, but i don’t really understand the house color/ product. Is it sherwin Williams or is it behr? I love the color and it looks so natural so I’m extremely curious as to what you used!
