Week 20 Bumpdate

Half way there??? Holy cow! This 20 week bumpdate brings a lot of excitement since we have successfully made it half way in our pregnancy but also the “Oh, crap!” feeling because we still have so much to do!

Week 20 BumpdateI’ve decided this will be the last picture I take after work. I just don’t feel pretty after working all day or in maternity dress pants.

How Far Along: 20 weeks, 4 days
Size of Baby: A banana and 6.5 inches long! According to our appointment last Monday, Hot Pie weighed 12 oz and was in the 58th percentile in size.
Gender: It’s a sweet girl! Read all about our gender reveal party here!
Movement: Hot Pie is very active! If I’m sitting at my desk, I feel her move pretty much all day long and in the evenings when I’m laying on the couch is when Cory can feel her kick the most.
Sleep: Sleep still isn’t a problem for me! This time change has been rough but I bought a body pillow this weekend in case I start to get uncomfortable at night. The best part? I’m only having to get up to go pee once a night at this point.
Workouts: This will be the second week in a row that I’ve gotten two Zumba classes in. I know it’s not much but at least I’m doing something! Plus, I just feel better after a little exercise.
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah! I can still wear my non-maternity shirts but haven’t been in a regular pair of pants in a few weeks.
Weight Gain: I’m up 9lbs.
Symptoms: This is definitely not pregnancy related because I’ve always dealt with seasonal allergies but holy cow are they bad this year! I’ve been avoiding taking my regular allergy medicine simply because I really hate taking too much while pregnant but I’m not sure I can avoid it much longer. I’ll have to find out which one is safe to take though. Also, I’ve already started having swelling in my hands and feet. This past weekend, I was on my feet a lot and my poor ankles cankles. They were so big. I thought I was going to skip the bad breakout stage of pregnancy but this week alone, I’ve had a few spots pop up on my face.
Cravings/Aversions: Still craving pretty much anything fruit related and hot dogs, for some strange reason. I’ve never been a big hot dog fan and apparently, Hot Pie isn’t either. I made them for lunch after church on Sunday and couldn’t even get through one before I got sick. That’s happened a few times now and it’s always with something I’m really, really craving.
Missing Most: I’m fixing to pull out all my Spring/ Summer clothes and I think that might get a little depressing. I struggle with not wanting to buy much but not having much to wear.
Nursery: We were in Greenville on Saturday so we went back to pick up the crib since we were in Cory’s truck. And again, it wouldn’t fit! I declared we weren’t leaving without it so we took it out of the box and it fit fine. There was seriously like 10 extra inches of padding in that box. Now, it’s leaned up against the wall in the nursery. We plan on getting to work on it this weekend since we have an extra long weekend.
Labor Signs: No! Thank you, Jesus.
Belly Button In or Out? Still in but it’s getting really flat. I suspect it will be out before long.
Wedding Rings On or Off? On but I’ve had to take them off a few times. If I get really hot, my hands swell even worse than they already are and I’m afraid I won’t be able to get them off.
Hubby: He’s still great! He loves getting to feel Hot Pie kick around.
Best Part of the Week: Even if it’s just a little progress, it was great to get something going with the nursery!
Can’t Wait For: Hopefully, making some real progress on the nursery this weekend. We’ve still got to get everything moved out and painted before we can set up the crib but it’d be nice to have that done so I can order the rug and start getting the bedding together. AND we are one week closer to leaving on our babymoon!!! EEK!
